Small Groups & Ministries
We believe in the importance of getting together with small groups of other Christians. Our Bible studies are geared toward building a closer relationship with God and your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Every Sunday in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m.
Other areas where you can be involved and get to know others in Small Group at BSLC include. For more information please contact the church office.
Acolytes and Scripture Reading- Those who want to help assist in our Sunday Morning services.
Service Greeters - Be the first to bring a smile to those who come visit our church Sunday mornings.
Homebound Ministries - Share the priceless gift of time and conversation with those who are ill or homebound.
Lay Ministry - Assist our pastor in strengthening the community of faith by offering support and care for the congregation through prayer and personal contact.
Stephen Ministries - This ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. A Stephen Ministry is available at each worship service to assist and answer any questions about this ministry. Our governing verse is "I can do everything through him who give me strength." Philippians 4:13
Nursery/Cradle Roll - Care for little ones and give young parents a break during one of our Sunday Services.
Prayer Ministry - Lift the needs and praises of our church family up in prayer before the Lord.
Worship Committee - Meet every other month and discuss issues relating to worship.
Softball Team - Have fun and get exercise!
Community Garden - Put your "Green Thumb" to work!
Music Ministries (see calendar for rehearsal and performance times):
Sanctuary Choir - Open to All Adults and High School Students
Praise Team - Open to all adults and high school students; both instrumental and vocalists.
Special Music - Open to everyone interested in instrumental or vocal special music, solos, duets, accompaniment, etc.
Audio/Visual Technology Support - BSLC utilizes sound equipment during services. The operation of our equipment will be taught hands-on and some knowledge of music may also be helpful for aiding the Praise Team.

BSLC women's ministries is a community of women CREATED in the Image of God, CALLED to be discipleship in Jesus Christ and EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to GROW in faith, AFFIRM our gifts, SUPPORT one another in our callings, SERVE in ministry and action, and PROMOTE healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.
Scripture Seekers group meets every Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. They study books of the Bible chapter by chapter and pray.

Wedding Committee - Interested in helping with details and events of a bride and groom's BIG DAY at BSLC? Here is where you can put your creative skills and calm presence to work helping families of the wedding party.
Altar Care - Help care for and supply beautiful accents for our sanctuary alter for Sunday services.
Quilter's Group - Have fun with other quilters! Quilts made send to Lutheran World Relief and for local needs.
Serving Groups
The women of the congregation are invited to join a serving group. There are 6 groups that rotate monthly were they are in charge of special events during that time. Each group has a chair member in charge of organizing helpers. Events include Sunday morning coffee, potlucks, funeral dinners, weddings and anniversary celebrations, cookie parties and new member receptions. Check with the church office for a copy of group assignments.
Joy Circle
Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) BSLC Chapter. The group meets for a Bible study and collect Mites. The mites from Joy Circle support national and international missions.
Local Ministry Projects
Anna Odgen Hall/ Union Gospel Mission - BSLC sponsors a room at Odgen Hall and participates in Food drives for Union Gospel Mission Oct-Nov each year.
Tree of Caring - In partnership with the Salvation Army Sally's House, BSLC provides Christmas gifts for local needy families.

Seniors
For the young at heart! Our Seniors Group is ready to take on the specific life issues that come with retirement age and enjoy the journey along the way! Check out our calendar for this month's Senior Class Luncheon and Out-To-Lunch Bunch dates and times.
Youth
We have a DYNAMIC youth ministry for youth of all ages. From Sunday School to Mission Trips to the Early Learning Center we want your children to grow in the knowledge and joy of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Summers at BSLC
Each year we host a no-cost Vacation Bible School for children entering Pre-K through 5th Grade. Through fun games, crafts, songs and Bible Stories we share the love of Jesus Christ with children.
We are also privileged to host a no-cost Lutherhaven Day Camp on-site at our Church facility. Camp Staff bring the energy and excitement of Lutherhaven right to our front door to share in the treasure of God's love for all.
